I am [obviously] pretty css-dumb, so my apologies in advance!

Because I'm even more dumb with php, I ask, is it possible to position the header image, nav bar, and title+tagline on wordpress twentytwelve newly created child theme, using only CSS?

I'd like to, so my edits are easily found, and later edited if needed.

I've managed to move the header up, but not to the very top which I'd like, and the nav bar down but it won't go down far enough, no matter how drastic I try to edit the few changes I've made to the css doc. I'm sure I'm messing up a lot, though I hope things may be easy, somehow, using just css.

I also need to keep the site title+tagline on top of the header image, in the same position as twentytwelve provides.

My fingers are crossed. Thanks so much for your kind help.

Moving title+tagline, header image, nav bar using css only, WP

Hm, using my wordpress twentytwelve child theme, I have managed to do most of what I want, using z-layer-ing. But how to work with the position absolute/relative is confounding me. While I've moved everything where I need it, which I had to resort to using position:absolute to make it work, the body text is now underneath everything, and moved way up.

If anyone knows how I might be able to work with position:relative to make this work, please let me know. I'd really appreciate it.

I changed position:relative to :absolute so that the nav bar would position itself better, and so the z-layer would go -under- the title/tagline. I also tried using what seems to be the "recommended" way of doing this, in header.php, though that messed me up more, making the nav bar disappear [after taking all my css out, even].

So I'm bamboozled. Happy to post my code if anyone has any interest in figuring this out. It's close, and using the standard recommended way didn't work for me, so I'm on the css-only track still, for now. Thanks so much for anyone's help. Smile
