I can't see the reason why there is a wide space below the footer, I tried anything I could, any help please?

Positioning gotchas strike again

Relative position does not work as you think it does. Your {top: -100px;} pulls the element up, but preserves the natural place in the document. See ยง9 Visual formatting model.

It is generally a dangerous practice to use relative and absolute positioning for major groups. For example, a negative margin-top would move the element without leaving the space behind. Use positioning when you want the rendering to be out of the flow, which is seldom the case.
