Despite having img {max-width:100%;} the image won't scale down. Remove the table and it will be fine but removing the table isn't an option as its the core of my ecomm providers template which you don't have access to.

All works fine on normal browsers, don't work on IE8 on XP. Don't have access to IE9 etc.

Any ideas?

HTML

<div id="wrapper">
    <table id="ctl00_container" class="page-container" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" style="border-collapse:collapse;">
      <tr id="ctl00_header">
        <td id="ctl00_headerContent" class="page-header"><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

        </td>
      </tr>
      <tr id="ctl00_body" class="page-body">
        <td id="ctl00_bodyContent" class="page-body-content"><table id="ctl00_columns" class="page-body-columns" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" style="border-collapse:collapse;">
            <tr>
              <td id="ctl00_leftColumn" class="page-column-left"></td>
              <td id="ctl00_centerColumn" class="page-column-center">
                <div id="hp"><img src="my-img source" /></div>

                </td>
            </tr>
          </table></td>
      </tr>
      <tr id="ctl00_footer" class="page-footer">
        <td id="ctl00_footerContent" class="page-footer-content"></td>
      </tr>
    </table>
  </div>

CSS

#wrapper {
	margin-left: auto;
	margin-right: auto;
	width: 97.826%;
	padding-left: 1.0869%;
	padding-right: 1.0869%;
}

#hp {width:60%;margin-left: 0;
	}
img {max-width:100%;}

Link?

Is there a link we can follow?

Of course, I have to ask, why would you use a template that's 15 years out of date?

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.

No link - thats all the code

No link - thats all the code to test needed to replicate the issue.

In the end I fixed it by adding display:table; table-layout:fixed;to the enclosing div around the image.

The ecomm platform is by Network Solutions. Why they still use tables is beyond me but only they can change it and of course there is all the implications to existing stores if they do.
