Just tripped over this* on my travels and while I found some of them very funny and oh so true, it may or may not interest you.

However, it reminded me of the original geek test. How long since you've taken it? Have you ever taken it?

C'mon...'fess up...scores please Smile

Tip: get your favourite sustenance first, it's a long haul....but then you might be a geek and not need it, if you're not sure when starting there is an Intermission.

*Disclaimer: I am not dating, nor have I ever dated (oops...maybe one or two), nor am I contemplating dating, a geek. However in a former life I worked with many Wink

LOL

LOL

I'm not even a Trekkie... it seemed to be some of the more obscure questions on which I gathered up a mountain of points. For example, I had to check "have a pet named after a mythological being" (my dog is named Griffin... it just seemed like the right name for him) and I've taken notes in more than one colour. I also go to museums of my own free will because I'm obsessed with art. I've seen any Monty Python movie 2+ times but haven't most of us? I also gained five extra points just because I'm female. (yeah... that's what put me over the edge!)

I actually thought I'd score low compared to most people, since I've always been far more creative/artistic than technical. That's why I love this place so much... someone with a creative brain needs a lot of help getting their head around the tricky coding!

I remember one of those state tests to see where a grade of children is at and I swear one of the questions (this is teenage years mind you) was True or False, the Sun in Hot.

Seriously. I spent a lot of time staring at that one wondering where the trick was.

Absolutely Poes agree with

Absolutely Poes agree with all of that, it's a hugely flawed test and massively USA centric.

How can it be geeky to turn your machine on in the morning, it's what I do for a living Puzzled more the point I often don't turn it off.

Email addresses, but one ends up with hundreds without actually wanting them, ISP, domain registration, google by choice, work/business addresses and so on and so on.

OS? I have all of them two flavors of Linux, two of Windows, windows server, a Mac, again it's what I do for a living and need a fair understanding of them all and of the browsers particular to those systems.

Watch foreign films? course I do, I watch American movies all the time not too much choice really Smile

YES. There were a lot of questions regarding the watching of certain television shows (we don't own a TV even) which I know are on cable in the US, Canada and I know quite a few of them are actually British shows. However stuff like Junkyard Wars is hit or miss depending on if the channel is offered by cable/satellite/whatever providers and usually they'll only do this if subtitling is available for the program.

I am assuming the translated questions in the other languages asked for different TV programs and movies : ) then again, which country do you use for Spanish?

Absolutely. You can see it in any Mac commercial, or just emulate the Beatniks and substitute the French cigarette smoking for trendy caffinated drinks (coffee-based, not red bull). It helps also if you're an "ar-teest". And have cut off your ear. And ramble poetry. And do gonzo journalism.
And emulate Jones-- er, Jobs, with reality-distortion-fields and all that.

We can't stop here! This is Mac country! : )
