well i was tring the following code . now the problem is when i click on the attribute , the page i am on re-directs to the "href" in the attribute , while actually i have specifically input the target="_blank" attribute so that the new page opens in a new tab . can somebody guide me as to why this is not working .

code is below

<a href="https://plus.google.com/115170433259195039832/posts" class="icon-button google-plus" target="_blank"><i class="fa fa-google-plus"></i><span></span></a>

Thanks you .

Regards
Gautam

Have you read the specs?

The target attribute is used to specify frame targets. Its use for non-frames is poor practice. Further, frames, themselves, are a poor practice.

See http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/present/frames.html#h-16.3

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
