Is your site run on a CMS? If

Is your site run on a CMS? If so, I'd look into finding a search engine module or extension for it (if it doesn't already have one by default which most do). If not, then I'd suggest your site probably doesn't need a search engine in the first place as a non-CMS site is unlikely to be that large.

Well if you're going to have

Well if you're going to have a blog integrated, you'll no doubt be looking at something like Wordpress, ExpressionEngine, TextPattern, Joomla etc - these all have search engines already built in. If you want my tip, use ExpressionEngine - it's the one I use for all my client work, it's very flexible and can handle almost anything you ask of it.
