Hi,

I'm having problems doing an edit in a Joomla 2.5 template I think that both the template.css and index.php files need to be edited but I'm not sure how to go about it.

At the moment I have a template.css entry, namely:

table.moduletable td, table.moduletable_menu td

This code controls the modules as shown in the screenshot below.

host_module_columns.jpg

What I want to do, is display different background images for the modules in the left, middle and right columns. (at the moment the css displays the same image across all the columns/modules) I understand that in order to do this I will need to create three separate css entries, as opposed to the "covers everything" css I mentioned above. I can't grasp how to do this.

I would assume that as opposed to having:

table.moduletable td, table.moduletable_menu td

I would have:

table.moduletable_left td, table.moduletable_menu td
table.moduletable_middle td, table.moduletable_menu td
table.moduletable_right td, table.moduletable_menu td

and that would split the code out, in the same way that I split the code for the module headers(the green ones shown in the screenshot).

what's got me tearing my hair out is what names to assign and how does the joomla backend recognise these new "names" or "entries" again, I'm assuming I need to specify these new css entries in the index.php (or somewhere??)

Any help or pointers to further reading which would clarify this would be most appreciated.

P.S. I tried creating a new css style entry such as custom1 and using that in the Module Class Suffix section of the Module Manager, but it did not give the result I wanted (It stripped the module header images)

I can attach the css and html files if need be.

Thanks in advance.
