basically it will centre in mozilla and safari, but not in IE
can anyone help me?

ok well first thing i notice
ok well first thing i notice is you have a div tag inside the header tag, this is a no no. Second thing, you didn't close your body tag.
To center a website use this css:
html, body{ width: 100%; height: 100%; text-align: center; } #wrapper{ width: 950px; /* replace this with your width value */ margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: left; }
Like Hugo said, you should use a DTD.

Also you should use an html editor like Dreamweaver, this will help point out any HTML errors. If you can't afford Dreamweaver there are some free html editors out there on the web, search for them.
