How to add a text box at the top of the body

Hi from a CSS Newbie.

I am very, very new to CSS, in fact I am just building my first page using it. I have been using raw HTML for years and years, BUT!!!!

I have just about finished my master page (MS-W Expression)and realised that I have not added the site name to the top of the page. I want to place it just below the body, but I don't know how to add a box. I've tried using my old HTML only method of just adding a 1 x 1 table, but am unable to.

Could someone tell me the code to use and where to place it.

I was going to use a screenshot, but it appears it's not working, so I have done my bestto explain it. I hope I'll manage after this problem, as the Master page "should" be OK.
