This is certainly a first out of all my years working with CSS.

Currently, I'm completely unable to add bulleted lists in the content of this in-development website - which is not an option. Hovering over one of the list items (which doesn't even contain a hyperlink) causes all list items below that one and content after the list to be quickly moved down the page.

After scratching my head in wonder for days and in testing things once again, I've come to the conclusion that it's behaving like a dropdown menu (which the main nav is). I used no CSS whatsoever to style these ordinary lists and even gave the list a class item with normal styling for a workaround:

ul.normalList {
	width: auto;
	height: auto;
	text-align: left;
	list-style-type: square;
	list-style-position: relative;
}

ul.normalList li, li a {
	margin: 0;
	padding: 0;
}

No luck. The list is still going haywire. How is a normal list somehow inheriting my dropdown menu behavior?

Here is a link to the craziness. The test list is immediately below the static slideshow image.

My social media rollover sprites (also list items, of course) are also exhibiting bizarre rollover behaviors which I've been trying to troubleshoot for approx. two centuries now.

The JavaScript from the menu

The JavaScript from the menu is targeting the LI's and adding height.

animatedmenu.js

$(document).ready(function(){

    //When mouse rolls over
    $("li").mouseover(function(){
        $(this).stop().animate({height:'600px'},{queue:false, duration:600})
    });

    //When mouse is removed
    $("li").mouseout(function(){
        $(this).stop().animate({height:'50px'},{queue:false, duration:600})
    });

});

Easy fix should be to change both instances of $("li") to $("#navigation li")

Embarrassed

I'm embarrassed. Sometimes when I've been troubleshooting a problem for hours on end to no avail, the most obvious solution escapes me.

That was it - thank you!
