Hi all of you,

I have just joined the CSS creator community looking for advice and help. I would like to help other if possible, although I am kinda new bee with css. Smile

So, the thing is that I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I cannot make a css to apply to a table which is displaying results from my mysql. You can see it live by yourself here. Just tick a box in the form and the results will be displayed below (if needed scroll a bit down)

When I launch the Mozilla's inspect element, I have noticed that the properties of div wrapper of the main.css (for the entire site) are been inherited and therefore the tdata.css is not triggered properly to be displayed. It is kind of weird because the tdata.css sometimes is triggered and properties displayed but, when refreshing is gone.

This could be an issue of bad practices from my side, but I don't really see what I am doing wrong, after trying for several weeks to find out why.

Please could you give me a hand with this and show me some light?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have invalid markup.

You have invalid markup. Specifically, I see this:

<div id="HTMLBlock3497" class="HTMLBlock">
<div id="searchresult">

<link href="css/tdata.css" rel="stylesheet">

<table class="css/tdata.css">
<thead>
<tr><th>ID</th>

See ยง12.3 Document relationships: the LINK element
Quote:
This element defines a link. Unlike A, it may only appear in the HEAD section of a document, although it may appear any number of times. Although LINK has no content, it conveys relationship information that may be rendered by user agents in a variety of ways (e.g., a tool-bar with a drop-down menu of links).

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
