Making content (text) area larger in a wordpress theme.

I was able to make my theme area larger by modifying this section of the stylesheet.css:

/*========= LAYOUT =========*/
	background: #ffffff;
	margin: 0 auto;
	width: 960px;

But this leaves a gap between the content area (where the text of a page or post is located) and the sidebar. I want to make the text area a little wider.

Here is the complete css code of the theme:

Theme Name: Original Premium News
Theme URI: <a href="
Description:" rel="nofollow">
Description:</a> Original Premium News by WooThemes
Version: 2.4.5
Author: WooThemes

css positioning problem

Is there any way to just make the entire page fixed so that nothing changes at all when you zoom in or out and everything just gets smaller/bigger appropriately? I'm kind of inexperienced with html and css, but I have things the way I want them and this is really the only problem I've come across. I'm using webgui.

Backroung hiding behind other modules

I have a basic blogp with a 2 column layout. One for the content (left), anothe column for "latest articles" and other stuff (right). I wish to add a background image, but it is giving me problems.

Modal Dialog won't centre on screen?

Hey guys.

Here's my website:

I'm trying to get my modal window centred on the screen. I've tried every combo of fixed, relative, absolute. I
had it working, then the navigation got bodged up so I started from my original index file, and now I cant get it working any ideas? You can see the dialog when you click the first project image. If you're right at the top its there but if you've are scrolled down the page at all and click it, it still opens at the top and doesn't move to the current center?

Here's the code pertaining the window:
