I'm very new to using CSS and web design so apologies for asking anything obvious...
basically the web site I'm working on has a flash vertical menu which I need to try to emulate strictly through CSS. It's nothing too complex, but 2 of the items have submenus; when the mouse is hovered over them the sub menu appears and pushes all the elements of the parent menu, below the current one, down. How would I go about moving these elements in CSS? Is it even possible?
Hello to the board, in the first place, 'cause I'm new here. :
I am quite at the beginning with CSS. HTML, PHP, MySQL are no problem, though for PHP and MySQL I still need some hours of googling from time to time
The idea is that I want to be able to build my own websites, with no help from CMS-es, templates and others.
The main idea for this specific example is that I want the site to resize itself according to the resolution or window size, so it has the best look all the time. Though resolutions are in fact the biggest issue here.
Hello! I've been working on a website and learning CSS as I go along. The navigation bar was working fine until I decided to try and implement a drop down menu function. I've been struggling for a few days and I have a few questions!
The site in question is here: http://www.neuk.ca/cssconfusion/
Here's what I have done so far:
1- I have an index files which contains an iframe. The purpose of the index file is to provide a static template, a frame, for a title bar, navigation and footer. One index file is in French, the other in English (index-e, and index-f).
2- I created several html files (in connection with the menu topics in the navigation bar) to be loaded and targeted at the iframe within the index file.
I'm having some serious issues with my CSS - but strangely this seems to be happening in IE8 only.
The menu of my website uses CSS divs and spans to give the 'hover' over effect (where the image changes when you hover over it). Two of the images that make up my menu are being pushed down, and I just can't figure out why. The image sizes are fine, and the code 'appears' to be ok...might this be a browser issue or my code?
I was hoping that a CSS guru out there might be able to help me and shed some light on this issue.
