Problems with template's interaction with index

My site is evereadyhardware.net or http://www.fortune3.com/evereadyhardware.

(CSS template and HTML Index code are below)

Designed the template using CSS.
The index is done with HTML tables (oy!).

The problem I am having is that the Home Page looks different from all of the other pages. This problem occurs in both HTML and CSS.

The Cart, though floated right, keeps getting mixed up with the Content area and the footer's margins act differently in the Home page and in other pages.

When I log in with my test user, the problems disappear even on the home page.

Quick CSS menu position fix for IE7

Hi,

I have been working on this menu for several days. Building the menu was fine, but when it came to testing it in IE7 I was stumped...

Basically what I have is a dropdown menu under the "Selling" menu item. It appears fine in every other browser.. In IE7 it positions incorrectly and moves over to the right.

I have spent 3 days searching, fiddling, and trying new things out. Can anyone help me with this?

A live preview is available:

Thanks in advance for the help!

Horizontal bars in IE 7 & 8

For some reason i have horizontal scroll bars showing up in Internet Explorer 7 & 8.

You can see it here - http://tinyurl.com/466a3kn

I notice in the IE developer toolkit when i set the Document Mode to IE 8 it removes the issue, but when it's set to 7 it comes back...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Opera, Safari, Chrome, IE compatibility issue (cross browser issue).

I've created a quite simple website. It works great in IE8+ and in Firefox. But it's totally messed-up in other browsers (http://narocila.gratita.com/matija_mihic/). Please, give me a few tips on how I can correct that...

Thank you, Laughing out loud

Mysterious IE layout problem with my menu?!

Hi,

Can anyone give me some advice on a mysterious IE layout problem I've been having with a menu on a wordpress site I'm working on (http://onewildlife.org/) ?!

My menu buttons are all adding a couple of pixels margin height at each position (as in screengrab below), even though this layout works fine in Chrome and firefox.

Any help appreciated, I'm tearing my hair out!

Thanks.

The CSS for my menu is currently:

/* = newmenu
-------------------------------------------------------*/

.new
{

	display: block;
	float: left;
	margin: 0 auto;
	width: 940px;
	background-image:url(images/backnav.jpg);
	background-repeat:no-repeat;
	position:absolute;

}

.new ul
{

	list-style: none;
	float: left;
	padding: 0;
	position:relative;
	width: 940px;
	text-decoration:none;

}

.new a
{

	text-decoration:none;
	display:block;
	float:left;
	font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,"Nimbus Sans L",sans-serif;
	font-size:13px;
	color:#FFFFFF;
	padding: 0 10px;
	margin-top: 2px;
	line-height: 38px;

}

.new a:hover
{
	color:#000000;
	opacity: 0.99;

}

li#red a
	{
	background-image:url(images/red.gif);
	opacity:0.75;
	filter:alpha(opacity=70);
	background-repeat:no-repeat;
	background-position:center;
}

li#pink	a
{
	background-image:url(images/pink.gif);
	opacity:0.75;
	filter:alpha(opacity=70);
	background-repeat:no-repeat;
	background-position:center;

}

and so on for each color button...
