Is it possible to display a link text without changing its color ?

Hello.

When displaying a link text (<a...>text</a>) many browsers change its color and underline it.
I would like the color not to be changed, for a:link, a:visited and a:hover.

I know it is possible by redefining the color but this is not an easy solution if texts are displayed in many colors depending on whatever... For each possible text color a redefinition should be written.

So my question is : is it possible to inhibit the browser to change the color of a link. I have a begin of answer : a {color: inherit;} but this does not work for IE (6, 7, 8 at least).

How to change navigation bar when page selected???

Please help I need a home button to appear in the navigation bar when viewing the home page. (using CSS and HTML)

Here is the CSS code for the hover state which works fine, so can i replicate it to work for when the page is selected rather then hovered over???...

#navigation-Home { width: 70px; }
#navigation-Home a:hover { background:url("Home.png") 0px 15px no-repeat; }

Here is the HTML code for the hover state:

<div id="navigation">
    <li id="navigation-Home"><a href="THE LINK TO HOMEPAGE">Home</a></li>
    </div>

Cheers

Roll over image to display text

I am working on a simple 3 x 3 grid display, what I am trying to accomplish is a series of 9 images, but when hovered/moused over some descriptive text is shown.

This is my code now, and the problem I am having is that the two objects wont lie over each other properly, any ideas?

Thanks!
