Gallery with floating photos and sidebar

Hi everyone!

I have a problem with my XHTML page. I have a gallery where are a floating sidebar (first div), main content (second div), floating photos (thumbnails) in main content (everyone in div) and short text in p tag (it's inside main content div in html). I would like to have this paragraph in main content div using css. My problem is when I set clear: both; for this text it shows under all content (sidebar is longer than main content div) but I would like to place this paragraph under the thumbnails in main div, not under all content??

Justified horizontal nav double banking in IE

I really want this nav bar to stretch exactly the length of my web site but am having some strange margins show up on the right and left, as well as different layout from FF to IE. I've had to use padding for button size, but might have gone wrong there. There is also some interesting top/bottom margin/padding in order to get it to line up properly below the flash header.

how can i prevent wrapping of actual floated elements?

i'm trying to figure out how to layout divs in a horizontal row. initially i thought that setting display: inline; would achieve the desired affect, but it doesn't. so now i'm using float: left; on each of the divs.

is this the proper way to position these divs? also, i want all 4 divs to remain in one line, and not wrap based on the width of the browser window...how can i do this?

my code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

2 rows of horizontal menus, problem with second menu

Puzzled
I'm trying out a 2-row horizontal menu without using tables. I'm working on a site for a friend, www.glanfyll-lewis.com, which currently uses table but i want to experiment using floats. The problem i am having is the second row of navigation, the client doesnt want a dropdown menu, i cant figure out a way to differentiate it from the top nav menu, as i want to move the second row nav menu to the middle and change menu colors and hover. Whatever i try, the second menu just doesnt seem to respond, what am i doing wrong?
