Unwanted Horizontal Scroll

I have an unwanted horizontal scroll bar. I have included the html and css below. This is a work in progress so not perfect.

I have tried changing the widths on several elements without any change. It does the same in IE and Chrome.

<div id="container">
	<div id="header">
	<div class="header_right"></div>
		<h1>Put your site name here</h1>
	<div id="navigation">
			<li><a href="#">Home</a></li>
			<li><a href="#">About</a></li>
			<li><a href="#">Services</a></li>
			<li><a href="#">Contact us</a></li>

CSS Layout Problem

I'm really new to this so please excuse my ignorance. I'm laying out a webpage using CSS (working from a book) and its been going well until that is I split the layout of the first elements into an Image box and an aside on the at the top of the page. The x3 columns beneath then stopped displaying horizontally and displayed vertically stacked one on top of the other.

Any idea where I have gone wrong? I know its a "big question" so if I can clarify please let me know. Appreciate any help or advice on offer.

Here's my CSS and HTML:

The site above works great on Chrome and Safari, however on Firefox it is completely messed up and i Know its a CSS layout issue. Can someone please help?? I sincerely will appreciate it.

The web page is three column with floating sidebars and content (center). The CSS image gallery used is Dynamic drive.com CSS Image gallery.
