On my site there are several 17px high headers, each of these has a background image with rounded ends.
This is fine for the right and left columns but the center column varies in width so the problem arises when the width of the header changes.
I can use background-repeat for a slice but this loses the rounded edges.
How can I place the end images over the ends of the headers to give the rounded edges whilst keeping the variable width?
It's a CMS so I can't change the HTML.
I am working on replacing buttons with custom images in our shopping cart and have gotten buttons to appear perfectly in FF but can not get them to display in ie at all. I have searched for a work around and tried suggestions from our third party software provider/host, adding a #MainImage background url, removing height and even font color??? but have had no luck. Roughly 90% of our shoppers use ie and my sanity is at stake at this point . I am new to css and am unsure of what to edit from here. My button code is as follows:
I'm building a website where I want to use this picture(attached) as a background image. My problem is that I always want the black box to be centered in the browser window, what ever screen resolution the viewer is on. So my intension is to use this background and then build divs over it. Does this sound like a good idea for coding or do anyone have a better way to produce this? Can someone please help me getting the code for the background straight?! I would be very pleased!
My learning curve is getting ever steeper!
I had designed a website with a doctype and. Then I decided I wanted a drop down menu but the page background image disappeared but the doctype to make the menu work meant the whole page messed up.
Starting from scratch, I am using the following doctype declaration and the menu works.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
I'm spinning my wheels. When I add the doctype, any doctype, my background images disappear. If I remove the doctype, my background images re-appear. I have to have the doctype for other css to work properly.
I can't figure out how to make this work.
Following is the stripped down version of my code!!!
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" > <html><head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
