On your wedding day

On your wedding day
by Melanie Gibson

Today is a day you will always remember - the greatest in anyone's life.
You'll start off the day just two people in love and end it as husband and wife.

It's a brand new beginning, the start of a journey, with moments to cherish and treasure.
And although there'll be times when you both disagree, these will surely be outweighed by pleasure.

You'll have heard many words of advice in the past, when the secrets of marriage were spoken, but now you know that the answers lie hidden inside, where the bond of true love lies unbroken.

So live happy forever as lovers and friends, it's the dawn of a new life for you, as you stand there together with love in your eyes from the moment you whisper, "I do".

And with luck, all your hopes, and your dreams can be real, may success find its way to your hearts.
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys, but today is the day it all starts.

Congratulations larmyia Smile

And getting married causes truancy now? It's only fitting that you would be truant, from the Celtic, truan, going to Cornwall as you are. They're a truagh lot they are.

Where's your laptop? You have to have something to get you through the evenings. What else would you be doing with your time, mining tin? Tongue

cheers,

gary

Roy, that was really touching.

and Gary, as much as I love you all on this forum, I think James would kill me if I was hanging out here on our honeymoon. but I'm sure we'll manage to find some other things to do to fill our time Wink

Hugo, PTH and I can see strange No Entry signs where presumably the rest of you are seeing emoticons or linked graphics of some sort. As TPH has now suggested, these graphics are shown when someone hot-links to a graphic that the owner does not want you to hot-link to. But clearly their methods are a bit hit-and-miss as some of us can (presumably) see the intended graphics and some of us just see No Entry signs (with gingerbread men too).

HB - It's nothing to do with the method used to add the image link to the page, but everything to do with the server or directory configuration of where the image is hosted. These things are normally set up in the .htaccess file but are never very effective, as you are now seeing. If you google 'hot linking' you'll probably be able to work out what they are trying to do and how (I don't have time at the moment) but it will probably have a lot to do with where the image is being called from e.g. from a page within the site itself or from a page on a different server.

Roy - yes I get how you're seeing a different image - they've set up hotlinking protection etc etc - I'm just slightly confused why they would presumably submit their emoticons for use on Smiley Xtra and then object to the hotlinking.

My strategy is so simple an idiot could have devised it!

Roy I was seeing the same image as you, just didn't peg it to hotlinking.

They are not that clued up on how to configure .htaccess to control hotlinking as they seem to have made the classic error of blocking all access including their own domain. Direct browser connection to the image works so they got that bit right.

Hugo - it was TPH who twigged it as I did not recognise the silly image. I looked into the whole .htaccess anti-hot-linking issue some time ago but came to the conclusion that it was too easy to fool and too easy to get wrong, whereby legitimate viewers get denied access too. If anyone knows a simple, foolproof method of stopping hot-linking then I'm all ears (eyes) as a few of my clients don't like their product pictures being used on other people's websites.
