hi Smile

i don't like frames, but there's one thing i appreciate: to have the site menu "frozen" at the top of the screen

i was wondering if it is possible to obtain the same effect with a div: if i create a div containing the menu and i set it for example 750px x 100px and set an high z-index can i align it with css to obtain it to stay over the other stuff and be positioned always at the... uh... "zero relative" of the screen?

like the menu made in javascript that "follows" the visible part of the screen, dunno if i've been clear enough :?

thanx a lot

i wanna substitute a frame with a div: can i?

you can do that with divs. only iframes (or frames).

if you want to put the menu in a separate file so that you only have to change your menu in one place, you can use Server Side Includes or PHP.

for SSI, your server must support it. if it does name your file .shtml and put <!--#include virtual="menu.htm" --> where you want your menu to show up.

in php, well... same thing, your server must support php. and save you files as php and put <? include "menu.htm" ?>

hth
