Attached is a dummy copy of the problem. It appears netscape is adding left padding/margin to the list causing it to overflow.... in IE6 it looks fine though.

I have been able to fix this by adding

#hMenu ul { margin: 0 0 0 -40px !important; ...}

and

#container { overflow: hidden; ...}

but this feels like such a hack.... I would like to know what is actually going on =)

Thanks!

#2: Netscape is wrecking it! unordered list as menu

Moz/Firefox and KHTML/Safari indent lists by applying left padding. IE and Opera use left margin to do the same. Simply zero both padding and margin to get all indentions matched.

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
