I would like some comments please

There are a few links still not working in this and the consistency of the website as a whole isn't quite finished but i would really appreciate peoples thoughts on what is there so far, its appeal and possible effectiveness

cheers

Freddy

I like it. simple, clean, you can find info quite easily.

it breaks down nicely with styles off and still looks quite decent.

one small thing... do you want the three images at the top though with styles off??? it's all personal preference really, but they could be considered more presentational.

good info on that page... I am doing something similar (writing my first official style guides, etc). good to see.

another picky one, small so take it as you do.... When I roll over your links I find the color to be quite subtle.

In accounts to accessibility I figure you should find a better a:hover color/combo as even having good eyesight I find them a bit 'blending' if that make sense.

From an accessability standpoint, I would change the right-side navigation so that you don't need to roll over the word itself to highlight the link. If this isn't making sense, check out this link:

http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/vertical13.htm

Notice how you can scroll anywhere in the line to highlight the link? They did it using this:

ul#navlist li a {
  display: block;
  width: 100%;
}

Beyond that, I would suggest URL hiding described best over at alistapart.

I also think there's something not quite right about your banner. It looks a bit blurred and the green word has different shadow angle than the grey word.

Nice Design but,

The green is too phosporic (the envelope and the others), so it is hard to pick. I'd rather use more margins from left and right, as you have enough space for. May be trying the menu left align would look better.

Also logo can be handled more seriously. And it might be a good idea to change the color of the bold areas in the paragraphs in order to obtain some contrast. Haven't checked the code & no problem occures with ff 1.06.

Nice work...

Hi Freddy

I'm going to agree with Sercotec about the bright green in both the logo and the text where it appears - really quite hard to look at, harsh on the eyes. I'd also look again at the logo - maybe just straight plain text?

I like the rollover effect on the links but it'd be excellent if they stood out a bit more.

Only other picky thing is I'd give the right hand navigation a bit more padding top/bottom.

Like the portfolio page - nice and easy to read.

My strategy is so simple an idiot could have devised it!

Yes , it's a funny green isn't it - i like it about four days a week then the other three it bugs me Laughing out loud - i will put some more thought into it.

I don't quite follow - forgive if im being stupid but how do i interpret 'seriously'????

I have tried that previously, my only problem was that if i used straight text it resizes with everything else on the page and goes out of whack pretty quickly.

I will take all these comments on board and post again to get your thoughts on the changes
This is an excellent forum, it's great to get an 'outsiders' perspective - it difficult when you're so close to the project

Thanks again

Excellent design with all the right SOE content, code and CSS.

I must agree with the comments on the shade of green. I have a 3-5 second rule I apply in my designs meaning visitors decide within 5 seconds whether to stay. Business owners tend to be conservative, so a darker green (the color of money?) will be more legible and soothing to us older peeps.

You have some nice examples in your portfolio that add credibility to your expertise, as well. Drilling through my first impression was the Sea Eco site could be spiced up easily with a different thumbnail below the navbar on each page. The client may not care either way but it may add impact and be more effective selling new clients that visit your online projects. Still excellent overall.

Hi Freddy!

The less jumpy green is much better and your little icons are very cool!

I'm still not totally convinced by the two greens on the site - they don't seem to go well together in my opinion. This is just my opinion so feel free to ignore me!

Check out Dynamic Drive's greens - they work well together http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ I'd maybe think about making the background green tone better with the bright green.

Other thing I'd definitely do is put some sort of border around the screenshots on the Portfolio page as they're blending with the background a bit. I personally like offset borders like this:

.pic { padding:4px; border:1px solid #e2e2e2; color:#333;}

My strategy is so simple an idiot could have devised it!
