Looks like they gave the validator a facelift. Now it seems that a valid page doesn't come up quickly anymore. It seemed that before only non valid pages cause it to stall for a few seconds before showing you the errors and a valid page would show the "This page is valid" real quickly.

W3 Validator has a new look. :)
I remember reading your post Triumph, but didn't realise how annoyingly slow it'd be. it is driving me mad. only validating 5 pages and it's taking forever! argh!
that's certainly going to inspire more people to validate!

I think you need to pick your time, avoid it when its 9-5 somewhere in North America.
