Why do we not like frames?

My opinion is that frames should be beefed up with more support and any problems percieved or otherwise should be fixed. Is there anything really wrong with frames?? We accept SSI's why not frames. We are getting rid of frames but not replacing them with anything as simple.

What are the problems and what do you think?

Frames

I can only think of one site off the top of my head that still uses frames. No, 2.

Frames... you know, I don't know either. My first site was framed.

I wonder how an aural browser would cope with them though?

You know you're a geek when you try to shoo a fly away from the monitor with your cursor.

Frames

Frames are definitely not as easy to use when it comes to developement, plus there are a lot of little things here and there that make them hard to be acceptable with some of todays standards. Oh yeah...they don't look very professional either, why would you want to use two or three scroll bars rather than just one. I guess when it comes down to it, Its really a matter of taste, and I guess only a few people like them.

Frames

The main problems with frames have been with usability issues.

You can't bookmark pages correctly. Screen readers and text browsers have problems with navigation.
