Some quick comments:

  • the red for the links is very dark on my CRT screen, so dark as to be unreadable.
  • the hovered color for the links is very similar to the standard text color, you might want to change this.
  • you are using a serif font. My personal opinion, small serif fonts don't look good on screen and have very poor legibility.
  • Your main menu links are low contrast at the top, reducing legibility, they are a very similar color to your main text and don't change on hover - not good things in a menu.
  • that text to the right of the menu is unreadable on my monitor.

Hey Gaia
Nice looking site
Three things struck me as soon as i hit the page
1. Top menu button text - its a cool idea but not that readable
2. The link colour in Links, Latest posts etc highlights well but it could probably do with just a little more contrast to the background - it's just a bit too dark

They are pretty petty little points i know but worth mentioning - no offence meant

Other wise it's a good looking site

I wanted the main hover to be similiar to the default text.

Serif is the default, what font do you suggest i change it to?

I am currently working on getting the main menu to have a rollover, it should be finished soon.

I changed the link color to something more bright.

Though it is hard to tell what everything looks like on other peoples screen. I can only go by what i see on mine, and on mine i can see everything 100% clear.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

The new link colour is much more legible on my monitor.

san-serif fonts work better at small sizes on most monitors. You could try, Verdana or Tahoma, they work well for Windows. Helvetica is good for Macs. Others may have other suggestions.

e.g.

body {
  font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}

I don't think I've ever seen fieldset used like that, I thought they were only intended for forms.

ok, i changed the font style to what you gave above. Thanks for the suggestions ^_^

And i have no clue about the fieldset only being used for forms.
