I have been having a little trouble with a script kiddy who seems to be located in Beirut, Lebanon.
This guy has downloaded one of my php scripts, broken the GNU GPL copyright and added a php shell script.
He has then made this available on his site for download.
The php shell script then gives him access to hack anyones site that downloads it from his site.
There is no doubt what so ever that it is my script he has modified as it looks and acts the same and still links to my site.

I have his email address and have tried to politely ask him to remove the script.
After numerous emails he said the script was removed but unfortunately it is still there.
I know his age, name, city and email address and would like to find a way to either contact his parents or send someone around for a friendly chat to set this young fellow on the right path to enlightenment.
Breaking legs only becomes an option if all else fails.

I have tried contacting the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon in Brisbane but they seem to conveniently forget to return my calls and must enjoy multiple lunches throughout the day.

If you are in Beirut or have a contact there or another idea of a way to approach this problem and are willing to help out please let me know.

Is contacting his web host/service provider and explaining the illegal nature of the website that they are hosting a useless avenue or am I being naive that they would care.

Is there really still no international body that will attempt to deal with such events ?

Lebanese computer crime task force

Can't read lebanese sadly and the specific page is 404

You could also contact and report him to Interpol as The lebanon is a member state, but it may be too trivial for them to care about.

It may be worth mentioning to this child that this is a course of action you intend on pursuing though, and that his tiny world will fall down on his head and life will become very unpleasant for him.

Thanks Hugo,
The Lebanese computer crime task force might be a good one to follow up.

They have their own server so I will have to chase it up a little more and find the data center or whatever they use.

Their site seems to target hacking of Yahoo so informing those guys might get me a little help.

What sort of server is he running, and how well protected is it? Why don't you point out how well 'connected' you are with other web developers and explain that if he does not remove the script, you might feel inclined to inform all your friends and colleagues of his email address and server IP address ...not that I'm suggesting that two wrongs make a right, you understand Wink

I just sent him a more direct email spelling out some of the steps I will take.
Luckily I found his phone number and address as well so it gives me a little more leverage.

Now does anyone speak lebanese and can use a phone Cool

I think this is the same guy from the worst hacker post, if not it's his brother

With 9392 forum members do you think we could launch a DOS attack? Ahhh, well, it was fun to contemplate it for a minute.

LOL can't we get him to destroy his own system and turn himself in then?

I'm sorry, but I just don't get these people. I try to understand but to no avail.

Note to Tony: I just went to place the 'whistle' emoticon but there seems to be an illegal character in the textural short-cut.

Ah poor young mite, my heart goes out to him Evil

So hopefully he's going to get a nice hefty bill for excess bandwidth consumption.

I do hope that the authoritys do get to have a chat with him though, it has to be got across to kids that this is breaking the law and a criminal act, it's this fact that many are actually oblivious to.
