Check out www.rendezvousstyle.com and let me know what you think. I designed the site and two techie guys did the coding (in HTML 3.2). I am in the process of learning how to update to 4.01 and validate as I go. Just finished the home page. The rest of the site seems to work ok, but would appreciate opinions on usability, design, etc.

would love some opinions

Instead of coding to 4.01, code for Xhtml 1.0.

It's future-proof, and hardly any different - just close all tags and use lowercase.

AND USE A PROPER DOCTYPE!

Seriously, where did you get that doctype from? It;s incomplete, it's missing the url.

I agree with TPH, and you would also be better off using CSS for your layout, not tables; text for your nav links, not pictures; and size your text in ems or percentage of base, not pixels (as IE users cannot re-size it very easily).

Life's a b*tch and then you die!

and perhaps a centered layout for bigger resolutions? this type of floating design could get away with it...
