This is what I've been working on for my work and it's just about ready for a home page release though the whole thing is far from complete.

So far it seems it works in Firefox IE6 and Opera but further tests would be great.

Also a few creative ideas wouldn't hurt if you need to suggest something Tongue

Dan.

[EDIT] Might help if i gave you the URL huh?

It's looking pretty good. Suggestions I'd make: I think the address could do with some more styling - it looks a bit out of place at the moment and I found that when you're reading the paragraphs that start in red, that it actually jars a bit when it changes to black. I like the idea of having a different coloured text, but I don't think it works that well for read-on sentences.

On first viewing I like it. the colours, the fading menu, the logo all work well imho. but I agree with the red/black text being out of synch. in fact the red looks more like a sub-header. if you're going to run with that idea, you need to look at using a colour that is closer to the main text colour, and probably lose the bold (another signifier of headers).

the other thing was that the partner/product section wasn't v clear at first. the huge links overpower the sub-headers. dont' know if this is important though.

but it looks neat and uncluttered and validates well Smile

when can we expect the rest of the pages?

I checked your site in Safari, Firefox, and Mac IE 5.2. Maybe Mac users aren't the target audience, but ...

My computer screen's native resolution is 1024 x 768 and the text is uncomfortably small. In Safari, the sidebar buttons look huge next to the text; but there's no obvious display oddities. In Firefox there's no background colors in the sidebar, and it looks like there's no vertical padding between the buttons. In IE for Mac, it looks like there's negative padding for the sidebar buttons.

Let me know if you want a screenshot.

To add to your Mac issues, the layout breaks at the first text increase in IE. Perversely, given the tiny default apparent on a Mac the IE text increments appear to be very much larger than they usually are.

Thanks guys. Any known remedies to those oddities you can suggest?

Yeah i agree about the partner/product buttons. I'm looking at a way to have them stilll look good but not huge. As for the firefox issue it seems the same as IE6 and Opera to me. What version are you looking at?

Thanks for the constructive critisism.

Dan.

[EDIT] Almost forgot. I will updating the page regularly as the boss wants it up as soon as possible, so you can probably expect the About Us and Products page up by the end of the week.

Hey Everyone, it's me again.

I've uploaded a new version of the website, taking into account your suggestions. What I'm looking for now is suggestions on how i can display the Computer systems on the right nicely. I'm tossing up whether to make it a graphical advertisement or stick with HTML.

Also, still having troubles solving the text-size problems, anyone discovered anything helpful?

Thanks a heap,

Dan.

[EDIT] made some changes to the way the text is displayed. How is it looking in the other browsers now?

I take it that those are gonna be the site's main selling items? I'd do them as graphics to give them a bit more punch.
