Hi

I would like to have your opinion on what is going to be the general design of my web site. It's not finished, but i can't go further because, i feel that something's wrong but i cant find out what! All critics are welcome.

This is going to be the home page, and i want it to make it feel like there are three parts in the site.(So the three colors)
The big picture in the header will be replace by an animated picutre(water, sky and wind effects) and on the left, a the main menu, still in flash, witch will direct you to each of the tree parts of the site.
And the horizontal menu(witch has a little problem under FireFox :? ) is a local menu, so it will change color, as well as the rounded boxes, depending on witch of the three sections of the site you are.
So here it is, i put two version with different background.

All criticts are very welcome

Thanks all for your time.

Just my two cents.

I like the background better on indexB, however I would ditch the fixed bit - it's overrated and overused. Let it scroll with the page.

I like the announcer bit at the bottom, very nice.

I like the three boxes, however the orange text should start below the image - a break after the image would look better than the text being on the right, then the left.

Il n'a pas de probleme Wink

I agree with thepineapplehead on that one. However I do find that your buttons are kind of glitchy... might be just me though.

Hi m4nu

The menu does not flow well in all of Op7, IE6 and FF1. There are some good examples out there, even on this site.

I prefer the background as you have done in indexB, but you may have to make it a lighter tint of grey by reducing contrast a bit.

Scrolling is glitchy in general, not just for the menus.

You might want to add a big bold title to the page. It takes a few seconds to find out what website I am looking at, considering the situation where this website would be in production.

Hope this helps

sanchex and technossomy are spot on - your drop down menus are glitchy, in both Firefox and Ie.

This is what I'd to to make it look nicer and not as glitchy.

What in essence is happening is that when you hover over a link, the drop down menu apperas, but it appears where you just hovered. What you need to do is position the submenus about three or four pixels further down, so they don't interfere with the main nav links. You also need to reduce the size of the left margin.

Also, I would remove the hover change of the main links - the white background with dark text.

Nice layout on the main page. However, I also have a couple problems with the menu. In Firefox, I can only hover over the top two submenu items, when I get to the third, the submenu disappears. Also, going to on of the pages available, there was no apparent means to get back to the home page, other than using the back button.

What I meant is that your page has no title. See how it says "CSS Forum / www.csscreator.com" at the top of this site? A user may want to have spelled out clearly and boldly what site he/she is visiting.
