Hi

This issue has been driving me mad for hours and hours...

I've created some nav links that use movement of the background image for rollover effects. The a:hover state works fine in IE5 & 6 and Navigator 6 (the background changes) but I can't seem to get it to work in NS7. The a:active coding works and it's almost identical.

I'm concerned because it should work in one of the most compliant browsers available?
Here's the code that moves the background:

#nav a:hover {
background-position: 0 -30px;
}

#nav a:active, #nav a.selected {
background-position: 0 -60px;
}

Why does the 'active' link code work but the 'hover' fail?

Any ideas?

a:hover background rollover problem in Netscape 7

Can you post a link to the live page?

This might not help, but it gives you a list of which browsers support which attribute:

a:hover background rollover problem in Netscape 7

Thanks for the advice. It looks like NS7 should display the effect properly but I'm sure I've caused the problem somewhere in my coding (I've made some modifications since my last post which now cause IE5 Win to make the nav bar vanish on rollout - who knows why!).

Here's the testing url:
