Having lived in 'the smoke' for many years, I don't go back unless I have to, and only then when I'm straddled across my pocket rocket (motorbike), ready to cut-up the taxis (I haven't been hit yet).

I wanted to go but, work refused to pay, I can't afford and now it's sold out - it's a trio of disasters

well, I've been saving up for several months now and am going. am really looking forward to it. working at home this forum is my only communication with the outside world (standards/accessibility/etc wise), so I'm looking foward to meeting some people into the same stuff I am (and not just other Moms talking about their children  and nothing else!).
It'd be nice to meet up if anyone else is going from here.
I have to admit it is expensive (for me anyways!), but what's a bit more debt to meet zeldman and the like?

If only it would come to sunny Bradford.

Don't think I've ever seen the words "sunny" and "Bradford" in the same sentence!

I was being sarcastic, lets just say you need a sense of humour like that to live here.

I did once!!!
It was something like
Bradford, sunny? You must be joking right?
Ok ok i'll go...
Day 1
Well, Day 1. I can't go into much detail as I have to put my daughter to bed and get dinner, but it was good. I met a certain Mr Zeldman and he signed my book. the man is a god. and also Joe Clark. Plus Douglas Bowman, Patrick Griffiths and Andy Budd amongst others.
I don't think the speakers expected the audience to be css-savvy or into accessibility, so it was a little basic. but still good.
full report to follow after day 2.

My jealousy boils over so did you catch out the great man with some insightful CSS remarks then ? along the lines of "so answer me that one MR. Zeldman huh, huh" or did you just gush and stutter
Hugo.

He was overwhelmed by me obviously! what a guy. I can honestly say it was worth it just to meet him.
10 years ago I was thrilled at seeing Morrissey/the cure/new model army. now it's Zeldman. my final transformation into geek-hood?
sheesh.
