Hi

Has anyone got any recommendations for xhtml compliant browser based editing controls. Something similar to http://www.xstandard.com/default.asp but something that the user would not have to download any software / plugins for?

Any help always appreciated.

xhtml compliant browser based editing controls.

Hi loungepenguin

You may be interested to know that there is an entire section on www.webmasterworld.com devoted to the topic of HTML editors.

My personal favorite remains HTML-Kit (www.chami.com), which admittently does come with downloadable plug-ins, but can be kept clean and terse without them and in addition offers syntax highlighting for programming languages, which is particularly handy in my case. It has semi-fledged compliance checkers as a standard.

Lastly, you may want to check out www.sitepoint.com for more information on wysiwyg editors, a source I still recommend as being more authoritive than most.

Hope this helps
