1. Is there any way to achieve this effect with a non-background image? (like: http://www.hscripts.com/tutorials/css/backp6.php but not background)

I want an image which would link to the top of my website, and would always be located at the bottom of the page as I scroll down through the content... I remember the old Geocities pages had the Geocities logo displayed on the bottom of the site independently of scrolling, and that is exactly what I am trying to include in my site.

2. I would rather have the "hand" or "arrow" cursor appear on my link menus on the top bar (index.html uploaded at http://home.earthlink.net/~eli_k/ -- check out the "General Info" menu, for example)... Any way to do that?

Thanks! Esk.

1. Fixed non-background image 2. Cursor question

If you have a look at their code, you can see how it's done.

The cursor is easy - you just change the cursor in your css file on the :hover state.

And remember, Google is your friend. Use it!

for (2) checkout "cursor", and use something like

a.submenu:hover {cursor:hand;}

replace a.submenu with the appropriate specifier to target the elements required on your page.

I seem to have found the answer to my own question (1)...

http://www.xerox.com/

Still need help, though Sad

This is exactly the effect I want. Would this be supported by other browsers as well (I use Firefox)?

"hand" is not a valid value for cursor, it's IE propriortry stuff - use "pointer" as I think that renderd as a hand in FF and IE at least.

spot on, Briski, it should be "cursor:pointer", that is the CSS cursor name and does work across browser. Just shows what happens when you answer questions quickly before finishing your first coffee. :?
