This is very strange. A site I built (http://www.rockriver.com) works fine on every configuration I've checked, except for 3 Macs using OS 9.2 and IE 5.0 where it crashes the browser. The computers are all owned by the same guy (who just happens to be a friend of the president of the company I'm creating the site for, go figure). Two are in his office, and one is at his house, but they are all using Cox.net. The reason I mention this is that I haved viewed the site on a different Mac with the exact same configuration and it worked fine. I'm hoping this is just an isolated incident, although if I can find a solution to the problem that would be the best thing. Any ideas?

The problem seems to happen after clicking on a category on the front page (i.e. "Men's").

Thanks,
Corey Paganucci

Inconsistent results in IE 5.0 on Mac with OS 9.2

Hi cpaganucci,
It might be that the javascript on the mens page is causing the problem.
First thing I would do is take out the JavaScript to see if the page still crashes.
If it does then you know that's not the problem and have to look further, if it doesn't then you can rewrite the JavaScript so that it wont crash any more.

Hope that helps

Mac problem

Thanks for the help. I think I found the problem. The javascript itself I think is ok, but the PHP script was generating an error in the style block. It was related to what you were suggesting - I just needed to take a closer look at the generated source.

Thanks again,
Corey
