Does anyone know of a way to make text wrap in an HTML table cell, even if it has no whitespace? It seems that "table-layout: fixed" kinda works except that it doesn't work at all in Netscape 7 (only IE). Ideally, though, we want something that will allow the cell to expand but still truncate the text when it doesn't fit (rather than wrapping it).

Thanks.

Turning on text wrapping even when there is *no whitespace*

have you tried: td {overflow: hidden;} ?

that should clip the text...
