Hi,
i got my first table free design ready. i startet using the csscreator for the initial layout and was able to get my basic layout to work.

i have to say it was a painful way... and without having this forum even impossible, thanks to all for all the good questions, and of course answers.

but on the other side, i'm not really shure anymore, what i have reached...

there is one thing, i don't like on my work, the subnavi comes after the mainnavi(if i turn css off), but i didn't got it to work right...

i would really love to get some opinions, about the way i've done this, if you mean it is sh** i want to hear this...

i have tested with Firefox and IE6...

and now the site: http://csstest.openslave.de

thank you
Peter

my first tablefree layout, plz give it a try

to start with...you need to name the entity "&" in the menu *Hard- & Software*

(without spaces - surely there's a better way to show this?) & # 3 8 ; will give an "&"

Ascii or hex, it's up to you. I think the preferred way is

& amp ;

(without spaces)

because it's short for ampersand.

I know what you are saying pet110, but the first thing I do is validate my css to try and see if the problem lies in a mistake I made. you said it's fixed, but on the link you gave it's still coming up as a problem.

other than that, I didn't really understand from your post what the problem is. or do you just want comments on the site itself? the style?

my first tablefree layout, plz give it a try

output of http://validator.w3.org/

Quote:
The document located at <http://csstest.openslave.de/> was checked and found to be valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional. This means that the resource in question identified itself as "XHTML 1.0 Transitional" and that we successfully performed a formal validation using an SGML or XML Parser (depending on the markup language used).

output of http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css2

Quote:
Ergebnisse des W3C CSS-Validator mit Objekt: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//csstest.openslave.de/
Keine Fehler oder Warnungen gefunden

what are you using for validation?

what i wanted to know is, if there occure problems on other browsers then the testet ones.

and if this css makes sense or not, would you code like this, what would you change...

I wouldn't like to comment on your code as I am new too and I dont' think I have enough experience.
