Hi there, im fairly new as far as css goes and have been batteling with this problem for a while now. Its probably really simple to fix (I hope)...

I have a fixed 2 column layout...

http://www.ultimatepaintball.co.nz/contact.html
http://www.ultimatepaintball.co.nz/style.css

and as you will be able to see, the side column has a background image that repeats along the y axis to create a divider. I want this to auto extend to fit the page height when more content is added to the main column... whats the easiest way of doing this?

Thanks Smile

2 Columns, Same Height?

Search this forum first looking for "faux columns" and then do a wider net search. It will explain the background to difficulties with what you want to do (and I bet you know them already Crying ) and how to get around them with a bit of trickery.

2 Columns, Same Height?

i haven't seen that tutorial... so i hope i'm not repeating what it says...

how about you make a div that has a height of 100% and a defined width, and then you put the img you want as the background for that div and make it reapeat.... that's wat i would do....

2 Columns, Same Height?

Here's a simple 2 Column-Apparent Equal Height demo. The explanation it just as simple so read the article antibland referenced to get the real skinny.

cheers,

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
