http//www.bearspotfoundation.org/BSFnstyles.css

Validates XHML 1 strict.
CSS validates

I have tested in Mac IE5 (!does not show evidence of a style sheet = broken!...ideas?), Firefox (fine), and NN7 (fine, except for white line at base of footer)

Am especially interested in Windows IE, any and all versions!

Also would like to know if content is centered, as it should be.

Thanks

Site check, please

Looks OK in FF1... the page is not centered in IE6 and the footer looks much different in IE6 vs FF1 as well...

Couple of minor items... you sometimes use shorthand on your margins padding etc... consider doing it all the time
Your color values like #999999; can be written as #999;
Divs shouldn't start with a number... (e.g. #300 )

Got the start of a nice site

Hi Wendy,
Nice design, shame that your using tables though, this is a fairly straightforward CSS layout to accomplish, time to take the plunge Wink

The page isn't centering in IE6 as you are feeding the second set of #wrapper rules with the star selector filter declaring zero margins they need to auto as well for the sides and if you wish it centered in IE5 then set text-align:center on the body and re-align on the wrapper/child div, also as rmfred has said watch the use of longhand properties you could be using shorthand for many of them and would cut the size of the CSS file by at least a quarter.

Hugo.

Site check again?

Thanks very much for your help. I will work on the css - I really just wanted to get the page straightened out, and then need to go in and dump a lot of styles that won't be used, and abbreviate the ones that will.

In the meantime, is this now centered properly in the IE6/win & any other IEs?

(css... http//www.bearspotfoundation.org/BSFnstyles_strict.css )

Also - WHY does the page not see the style sheet when I display in IE5/mac???

Lastly - what is causing the white line at the bottom of the footer in FF/mac & NN7/mac?

Thanks again - I really appreciate the help.
