I know this isn't the appropriate forum but since there a lot of diverse people here I hope someone might be able to lend me a hand Smile

Weird... my nt network has been working for YEARS... a couple of hrs ago I started getting Error 8003 from 2 machines in the event log on the server. Now no one can log in to the domain... get error that there is no domain controller available.
Shut down the 2 offending client machines... rebooted the server... NO LUCK
Checked File&Print sharing for 2 clients (set Master Browser to disabled) NO LUCK
Checked registry on 2 clients...
hkey local machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\browser
Nothing in the registry for browser

Rebooted all network hardware (swithces, router etc) NO LUCK

What else can I try?

No domain controller - rdr 8003 etc errors NEED HELP

Hi rmfred,
If you haven't made any changes it is possible that a virus could be causing the problems.

No domain controller - rdr 8003 etc errors NEED HELP

Tony;
Nope... no virus or spyware etc... even more strange I booted up another win98 and xp client to see what happened and upon doing so, the 8003 errors appeared in the event log for the win98 client...

So... I took all clients off the network... shut down all servers... shut down switches and router and then brought everything back up one at a time... router then switches then servers then clients...
NO MORE Domain Controller error...
Been working for over 24 hrs...
Who knows... Gremlins maybe?
thanks
