HI All,

It's been a while.
I have just uploaded part of a site I am working on for a friend. Your mission for today, should you choose to accept it, is to assist with the following:

I am having is that whenever the index page is on screen and the cursor/mouse is rolled over the menu, the last paragraph on the index seems to disappear. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I have botched it?
This message will self-destruct upon completion.

Cheers

Andy

PS
Whoops! The site is at

Urgent assistance.... disappearing divs with nav rollover

Hi Andy,
Good to see you back again.
No problem with the link in fact it makes it easier to find a solution we just discourage posts that are blatant advertisements.

Your problem sounds like http://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer/peekaboo.html

Hope that helps

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the welcome from a wet Scotland.
Thanks for the pointer/info but I am not exactly sure how to solve the problem. Can you offer any advice for a quick fix?

Cheers

Urgent assistance.... disappearing divs with nav rollover

Hi Andy,
I not on windows so I can't see the bug in action but I suggest you apply position: relative; to anything thats floated or contains a float.
With a little testing you should be able to work out where best to apply it.

Another option may be to set the line-height of all divs, something like
div{line-height:1em;}

Hope that helps

Urgent assistance.... disappearing divs with nav rollover

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the info.
I had 2 .css files reference in the head region of the site, and once I deleted one of these it seemed to work. I have no idea why this should be so, but hey, it seemed to do the trick.

The only problem I seem to have now is that instead of having the links appear black in colour before and after pages are visited, they seem to be appearing blue. I do want to have the white rollover effect which seems to be OK for the moment.

Any ideas on this blue text for the visited state? I am sure it must be something simple.

Urgent assistance.... disappearing divs with nav rollover

I tried posting images into the footer of the page, but it doesn't look right. I wondered if anyone had any workable ideas to be going on with?
Other than that the site seems to be ok... unless you have comments to offer....

Thanks

Andy

Looks to me like you closed your footer and then put in the images?
You have div class="footer" then your contact information then </div>
Then you have your img class="left" and "right" stuff

Urgent assistance.... disappearing divs with nav rollover

HI there
I had actually been playing around with the positioning of the images both inside and outside the footer.
I submitted and resorted to placing the files within a table which works, but will try playing with the css... after all aren't we all after tableless design...?
However any additional comments would be welcomed.

Cheers

Andy
