Hey guys, long time no see Wink

Visit http://test.phark.net/final.html

Been hard at work at... everything lol. I've been working on my new site, but for some reason its dying in IE6 for Windows. It looks correct on all Mozilla-based browsers, Safari, and IE5 for the Mac.

I'm not quite sure what's up... I fake a shadow effect on the main div via a vertically-repeating background image, and keep the content aligned with it correctly by floating it right and attaching a margin-right.

My brain's fried today, please see if you can find the error... I'm sure its something easy, but you never know.

Oh, I know that the navigation list looks a little fishy, I'm still working on that Wink

Thanks a ton everybody,
Mike

Stupid IE6

lol thats really eaten up half the page in IE 6. I'll take a closer look early tommorow. Smile

I had a look of the page with mozilla 1.4 and it almost looks identical to IE6. The only difference is the Top menu is offset a bit. What are you trying to achieve ? could you give a graphical image of what you are after ?

This is what its supposed to look like:

As soon as I fix this margin problem, I'm going to make the content area about 30px wider... it seems like the right thing to do lol.

I just checked in Mozilla and it didn't have problem that IE6 is having.

This is what it looks like (to my knowledge) in IE6 on Windows:

The text should line up perfectly with the edge of the yellowish-white area, however its not being so nice.

You're telling the background image to go to the right and that's exactly what it's doing in IE6 - going to the very right of the body. To get around this, put the margin on the body as opposed to #frame - this works fine in IE6 and Firebird.

    body {
        margin: 0px 41px 0px 0px;
        padding: 0;
        background: #494949 url(shadowbg.gif) right repeat-y;
        }

    #frame {
        width: 521px;
        float: right;
        margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
        }
