Currently I am redesigning my website, it was table based and I am now
trying to convert this to a CSS layout. I am almost there but there are
some things that need to be fixed.
Look at: http://www.refresh.cx/test/, there are several divs
(columns) that won't stretch to the correct height. Anyone know how to
The stylesheet is in stylecheet.css, I don't use absolute positioning, I
already tried 'wrapper' div's but without any better results. This page
looks ok in IE6, Opera and Firebird.
stretching Div problem...
The subtitle and subtitle2 Divs are causing the content table to be pushed over to the right. If you remove the float from these items the table is aligned correctly (in my test).
Also, I noticed that you forgot the BODY tag. Easy mistake to make. Not likely to be the problem, but might help.
Refresh.cx table-less layout
I took a more in depth look at your problem and rebuilt your HTML and CSS to no longer use tables for layout. The new layout relies on absolute positioning.
I have tested this layout in IE 6.0 WIN, Chimera Navigator 0.6 MAC, IE 5.2 MAC, Safari 1.0 MAC with no problems. IE 5.5 WIN has some minor layout inconsistancies which I can help you solve if you choose to use this layout.
(css is named stylesheet2.css)
