Anyone get hit by the Windows Blaster Worm?

Some computers at work were hit.

Good time to update your virus definition files and tighten firewalls.

Well, fortunately, I'm a Linux user, and only rarely boot into WinXP ...thus I'm not really affected by this Laughing out loud

I think I'll stay away from booting into WinXP for a while, till this blows over.

Big time.

Our servers at work were hit, and now all the Windows boxes on the network are infected. Luckily, myself and the whole design team all use Macs Smile

I'm all firewalled up at home (like any Windows user should be anyway) - I think I installed the relevant patch when it was released some time ago.

Work is a different story - there were initial infections of VPN and dial-up users in the US, but there have now been confirmed multiple internal infections of workstations as well as servers in Orlando, Mishawaka, and Indy - luckily, we're well patched up and safe over here in Belfast Smile

Yeah, my poor machine was caught. My laptop's firewall was set up to handle dialup connections only - I was wide open on the LAN
