The CSS Creator logo comp is closed to submissions. Thanks to all those who took part either submitting logos or adding comments. Some of the designers have really come up with creative, original designs. Now we have the hard task of choosing a winner. You can help out by posting your top 3 logos here, or by tweeting your favorites with @csscreator #logo included in the tweet. I'll use the comments and tweets to help me decide on a winner.

Here's part of the original requirements

Quote:

I'm after a logo that incorporates the name CSS Creator and a unique branding graphic. I'd prefer something clean and simple that could be reused in other marketing material such as t-shirts, business cards etc. The site will be re-designed once a logo has been chosen.

We have 2 weeks to choose a winner, but I would like to be done as soon as possible so I can get stuck into the re-development.

Even if you mentioned your

Even if you mentioned your top posts before please post them again now that all entries are in. I have been culling to bring the number down and your favorite might get knocked out or overlooked.
I have had a couple of tweets with favorites of:
#214, #192, #155
#150-2, #200-2, #59

I pretty much like all of

I pretty much like all of Shah Hassan's
http://99designs.com/contests/27869/designers/294775#entry-212

So, 212 I guess...

My picks would

My picks would be:

214
192
158

Wolfcry's #200 would be OK too if the CSS and Creator lines were the same length and CREATOR was all uppercase to avoid extra space as in 192, 193 etc.

I'm going to go

I'm going to go for:

#212

#59

#150

I could have added two more to those quite easily, and liked some of stevO's efforts (#213) also thought a late entry #223 that I hadn't seen until after it had been eliminated was showing promise.

Here's a thought can we ask the winner to ring the changes on the colour scheme (depending on difficulty) four versions Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. As winter sets in transition to a bluish feel through the site, spring hits and transition to fresh brighter tones, summer arrives and we have strong red/orange notes, autumn arrives and we have earthy tones. swap a master theme sheet for major background colours and logo on the solstices. I'd quite like the site running through changes, help keep the design feeling fresh?

I'm hoping to work with

I'm hoping to work with whoever wins to tweak the design if needed, so it shouldn't be a problem. Of course you understand the seasons are back to front where you are Wink

Thanks for the favorites submitted so far, Interesting spread, I really wouldn't have though #214 would have attracted so much support. Must be the nice colors. I'm sort of seduced by the smart graphics of the others like #196, #59/#62 #117/#122.
#213 and #28 are also good, as is #212.

I have a grading tomorrow morning then a pretty busy weekend so I don't think I will finalize a decision until Sunday night or Monday.

Oops forgot the seasons are

Oops forgot the seasons are back to front where you are Tongue also forgot that to some it would be a case of 'Winter :? ' so maybe a monsoon season and dry season Smile

Suggestion (perhaps obvious?) when we have posted a few favs that you close off post as it were; make your final three based on your likes and whatever design figures most often in our choices, we can then further make a choice out of your final three selections, which might help you narrow down your ultimate decision?

Grading? 1st or 2nd Dan?

Monsoon, maybe further

Monsoon, maybe further north, here we are more likely to experience winter.
Sounds like a plan I'll look at knocking it down to three tomorrow afternoon.

I'm doing a step grading between 1st and 2nd, we have about 12 steps between each dan, I'm doing the 5th. I will be totally stuffed after the grading, then we will go out that night and get total stuffed a different way

winter? come on Tony, you

winter? come on Tony, you don't have winter Wink

#113
#150 (design, I'd prefer bolder contrasting colours like in the first attempts)
#210

I don't understand why the .com got dropped from wolfcry's work. Would any of the logo designs work with wolfies text?

You're right there. We had 30+ days in August this year.

I don't want cause any

I don't want cause any problems by doing this, but I want to let Tony know that I'd be more than happy to work with him in finalizing a logo if I were chosen. I'll give two examples (mods or Tony, please delete if you think this is in anyway unfair).

Wolfie apart from the

Wolfie apart from the obvious problems you are causing those logos are far too small, I think you need a sense of perspective Tongue

Right. Well I've thunk and

Right. Well I've thunk and I've thunk and I've thunk.

While I think we all anticipated a logo rather than a logotype, I cannot go past Wolfie's #49 for it's sheer genius - it really IS all about the forum - and because:

1) We can choose which bits to use in the final version.
2) The # makes a great clear favicon
3) We can have whatever colour we like and in fact can have a new paint job every year if we want or
4) Give people stylesheet colour choices
5) Even the full version works at small sizes for a badge or
6) We can add a tag line
7) No problems with flat colour printing but it can be gussied up for the website Smile

I've given you some options in the other thread but here's a couple more...(ignore the watermarks)

If you really, really, really want a logo my choices are shel009's (colours to be decided) or #192.

I also have to add #189 but not in black or white as it is - possibly rendered in the dark cherry red with the (now) coloured bit and the A made black.

Smee, they are both really

Smee, they are both really good, I think your best yet.
Like wolfies last ones posted above, I can't use them in the competition, but it is really good to know I have some some good people willing to help out.
Thanks for all your effort to date.

Hey I'm having fun trying

Hey I'm having fun trying out my new program - it really is simple for me to make these changes, so no problem Smile

What do you mean you can't use it? Of course you can. You're choosing a concept over at 99designs, you're at liberty to add a tagline, change colours and arrangement any way you wish. And I think Wolfie would be amenable to any and all of that.

I meant I couldn't choose

I meant I couldn't choose one of those designs as the winner because they came in after the competition closed.

no, but they're clearly a

no, but they're clearly a revision of #200 (which gets my vote  )

Well seeing it is 911 here

Laughing out loud Well seeing it is 911 here for a few more minutes, I'll go in to bat for you one more time Wolfie. If he doesn't get it this time, someone's going to have to call for my interpreter Smile

Quite right, you can't choose from this thread. However, #202 (get your numbers right Wolfie or he'll get trigger happy again and delete the wrong one), as I was saying, #202 contains all the elements of the suggestions above. Therefore IF you should end up choosing #202, asking for the word 'creator' to be dropped to the second line is no different from choosing #192 and asking the text be put underneath or choosing #214 and deciding you'd like it in powder pink.

*sheesh*

:bigoops: Forgot to ask...how did the grading go? Did you manage to use your opponent(Drunk to make any building changes? You know...holes in the floor, walls taken out sort of thing.

I have chosen a winner

I've made up my mind based on the favorites submitted above using a secret formula Wink
Similar designs by the same designer were grouped together.
Favorites were awarded points, 3 for first, 2 for second 1 for third.
Once they were added up #212 was a clear winner.
Thanks to all who submitted entries, or help choose the winner.
I was pretty keen to get this over ASAP and decided against another round of voting.

Wolfcry911 and Smee special thanks for your submissions. I have ideas on integrating your ideas into the website design and hope I can still count on your support.

Done and dusted eh?

Oooh...it's over! A "secret formula" eh? Congrats to the winner then Smile

It was an interesting exercise Tony and thanks... more secrets, I can but wait Laughing out loud...and apologies to all if I was being pushy :blushing:

Thanks for your involvement

Thanks for your involvement Smee.
In the end using a simple formula to decide the the winner was a good way to go. I'm happy with the winning design and feel a sense of relief that the decision is over. There is still much to do on the redesign and I'd like to get it done as soon as possible.

My grading went well.

No problem and of course it goes without saying that if there's anything you feel I can contribute, I would see it as small return for the enormous amount of help and pleasure I've had from this forum and the great people here Wink

This is, after all, the main thing and no doubt the formula took some of the agonising out of it - of course now we're all waiting to see what you do with it! So pleased you're ready and raring to go Laughing out loud
