For some reason the div class does not render at all. I specified padding, margin to the class but they get disregarded.

When I debug in Firebug, it shows the tag but when you click to see its properties they dont seem to exist in the tag

Why is this?

I just got hired for this

I just got hired for this project, taking it over from the other developer.
I have no idea what he was smoking, but I figured even to validate will give me countless hours of headache

Y

You should first try to dubug those 64 erros that that the validation is giving back. Maybe changing the doctype to a transitional instead of strict should help you have less errors.

Bad advise. Stay with strict.

I guess I need help

I guess I need help validating the page. I have never done page validation of this kind of caliber. I can deal with 5 errors maybe 10, but not 80.

Magically I got the error count down to 9, but from here I need help, because I don't know how to fix the rest of them.

ok, 1. Line 28, Column 246:

ok,
1.

Line 28, Column 246: Attribute "border" exists, but can not be used for this element.

This is saying you cant have border there, so take it out.

2. line 104, alt text should be in quotes. Values must have quotes.

revalidate.

perfect Now that my page is

perfect

Now that my page is validated the submitter class still does not render. Even when it is viewed in Firebug it doesn't show that it contains any attributes

.submitter {
width: 350px;
padding-left: 15px;
}

Any thoughts why?
