I have been working on this problem for the last few days with my designer. We have tried to implement the Sticky Footer for IE6. We have it working fine in IE7, IE8 and FF.

Here's the problem. We have a site that is part Joomla and part CRM custom package. We got the CRM to have the sticky footer working correctly for IE6. In the Joomla Template, we are not able to get it working.

What we get is one of 3 scenarios (depending on how we mess with the css.
1. The footer shows up at a fixed position at the bottom of the page, regardless of the wrapper content size (sometimes up to 500 pixels lower)
2. The footer stops in the middle of the page and is hidden by the wrapper.
3. If we put position:absolute, the footer stays in the middle of the page, but it is over the wrapper.

As I said, this works great in IE7, IE8 and FF, but because of the nature of some of our work, we still need to support IE6. The site is:

#wrapper {
	width: 950px;
	margin-right: auto;
	margin-left: auto;
	min-height: 100%;
	height: auto !important;
	height: 100%;
	margin: 0 auto -30px; /* the bottom margin is the negative value of the footer's height */
#footerbar, .footerbar {
    color: #ffffff;
    padding: 6px;

<body id="bodyTag" onload="setSideNavHeight();">
<div id="top">
<div id="wrapper">
<!--[if lte IE 6]>
<div style="clear:both; width=100%; height:500px;">
<div id="footerbar" align="center" style="vertical-align:bottom; bottom:0; clear:both;">
