I am looking for help in learning a bit about Flash. That said, I work in Linux, and I wouldn't buy Adobe's IDE anyway; no roi, not being a graphics type.

There are open source, free applications for authoring Flash, such as haXe and SWFMill, which seem to be quite capable of compiling Flash9 compatible code.

Is there anyone here familiar with non-proprietary Flash who can guide me to a how-to or tutorial that doesn't presume a familiarity with Flash's IDE?

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
