having tons of issues with pixel fonts... just want to make some basic flat "link buttons" with a pixel font and cant find one that will look right at all. have a few freeware ones ive dl'd but none of them seem to look right at all... (im trying to make the images in photoshop, just simple gif's... is there another way i should be doing this?)

mini-7 and tenacity are great. almost any font uu have installed works OK. if you're using phtooshop be sure to have the character palette set to NO anti-alias (where you normally set it to "crisp" or "sharp" etc). Set the font-size to 10 on the fonts i mentioned above.

yeah.. i had the anti-aliasing off.. i had the faux bold on though, which was what as causing all my problems... finally figured it out and promptly kicked my own a$$... thanks though!

horix - for all sorts of accessibility and SEO reasons, you really ought to be using text links, not image links. You can still use your images for the backgrounds, just let the browser create the actual linking text. See these for more info:

yeah.. i know the advantages of text links.. but pixel fonts are not usable through text links because a lot of computers dont have them installed so they wont render correctly... you almost always have to do it with images, and just make sure youre very careful

Okay, sorry, I haven't a clue what 'pixel fonts' are. I though you just meant bitmaped (picture) text. But I still say that you should be using text for your links if you want your site to be accessible and spiderable (if there is such a word).
