Sorry, I hope its ok to ask here but I have to recommend a web hosting company and I'm having a bit of trouble finding independent reviews.

I wonder if anyone has any advice? The company is in the UK, site is approx 60MB, 20 pages of plain text and images, will need php for the contact forms.

Thanks

you're asking if we know

you're asking if we know anything about your web host? you want reviews? Who is it? whats the url? I can tell you right now, that 60MB will not last too long. What about bandwidth? My server gives me unlimited space.

If you explain the nature of your site like its purpose, audience, function, we can give you better feedback as to what you need and what you dont need.

PM Me

Hi,

If you send me a PM I will let you have some, and some to steer clear of (learned from bitter experience) - but it's probably not appropriate for me to name them on here.

Cheers,

Sorry, I am looking for a recommendation or the URL of an independent reviewer.

The site for a small training company. It is about 20 pages of text with two small images on each page. (60MB ?) Potential delegates (dentists) register, but not pay, for the course online.

I read to be wary of unlimited space as it rarely actually means unlimited - but again this is just what I've read and no experience.

Thanks

Space required is small,

Space required is small, bandwidth requirements likely to be minimal.

What is essential is not tons of disk space or bandwidth but professional reliable hosting and in that respect check out a company called clook.co.uk based in the UK with servers in London and New York, the company and network was built and is run by a group of extremely savy techies and specialises in hosting for other developers really, in 4 years I've not noticed any downtime or any problems, they don't believe in them they love to design networks that are simply impervious to problems.

They are not cheap though, not horribly expensive but they don't cut corners and you are expected to pay that premium for good service. I think basic shared hosting starts at £55.00 quid a year.

And no I'm not in any way shape or form connected to the company - wish I was though Smile
