Cor google street maps is incredible, played with it a while back and marvelled at how clever it was allowing you to pan around and zoom up the street around corners etc. Had to laugh today as one of the chaps I work with was playing around with it and decided to see whether our office address had been captured yet, it had, not only that but they got me as well having a quick fag outside the office, and if one travels past you notice my puzzled expression and intense glare as I tried to work out what the strange vehicle was up to; well now I know Smile

I have been immortalized for all time er well until they next pop round then I'll be overwritten Sad

Haha...that's great Hugo. At least you weren't doing anything obscene or illegal that some people have been immortalized doing on street view. Smile

*Note, nothing obscene on that link

Just a good job I wasn't

Just a good job I wasn't standing there absent-mindedly scratching...

As your link states a new trend has been started it's great fun Smile can loose many hours virtually walking around streets.

Interesting in your link no faces are obscured; wonder whether that is just a UK thing? all car number plates and peoples faces are cleverly blured.

I think it is a european

I think it is a european thing. I remember hearing that in Europe that google had to abide by more privacy laws than they do here in the US. Apparently here when you're on public property, everything's legal to photograph. There has been some public backlash as some people are not happy when they're immortalized coming out of an adult video store. I think that was one of the big reasons why it took longer for them to get started on streetview across the pond.

I guess so although it has

I guess so although it has always been perfectly legal to photograph anyone in a public place the only people that could legally object to having their photo taken without consent used to be pregnant ladies.

Just had a stroll around San Jose not sure why just fascinated to see what was at the end of the avenue and around that corner, probably find my way around quite well now Smile

Haha, that's great. Gotta agree that you're lucky you weren't doing anything you wouldn't want immortalized on camera.

Closest I've come to this is having Google Maps satellite image of my house with my car in the driveway. Always wished they would catch me walking to or from it for some reason lol..

I don't want the identifiable recognition that you have. All I'm asking for is to be a small dot in my driveway on Google Maps.. is that too much to ask!

There's a close up that's

There's a close up that's much funnier where I'm visibly scowling at this strange vehicle as it passed.

Presumably you weren't

Presumably you weren't caught wetting down the tire on that car, or were you? Inquiring minds want to know. Wink

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
